On 12th April 2019 , In order to acknowledge and address the issue of climate change, MASH Project Foundation organised Varenyum, a session on climate change on 12th April 2019, held at CoworkIn, Lajpat Nagar, Delhi. Mr Manu Singh was invited as the chief speaker of the session.

He emphasized how our modern lifestyle choices have a catastrophic effect on climate and the entire ecosystem. Our life has become and is becoming more anthropocentric and less inclusive. In the introduction of the session, he calculated the age of the earth and compared it to a day's time, the existence of dinosaurs, the evolution of Homo Sapiens, the Industrial Revolution and the World War, all of which were summarised in a timeline of 24 hours. It was humbling and astonishing to understand the insignificance we hold in the abyss of the cosmic universe. In the very little time that we have come into existence, we have caused tremendous havoc and chaos, and we alone are responsible for the degradation of an entire planet.

It was an extensive session, we not only discussed the effects of climate change on humans but also vice-versa. The effects of animal husbandry, the trending shift from fuel-based vehicles to EVs, and the infamous environmental policies.

The participants were very well-informed, making the session interactive and intriguing.

Other partners who joined hands with us for the betterment of our planet were-

-PETA India

-White Cub

-The Prodigal Cook

-Elucidatorz

-Nutriva

On 26th September 2019, Mr. Manu Singh, Founder of Panyaa, was invited by Prakritik and Dhyaan Society of Lady Shree Ram College, Delhi, to give a talk on “Environment and Spirituality: a closer look at mindful consumption.”

In the introduction of the talk, he began by explaining through scientific facts how our environment and spirituality are intertwined and the effects we have been facing by separating the two. He beautifully explained how the narrative of climate change is mostly about preserving the environment and mother Earth while it is the humans who are at a loss, the earth has existed long before us and will exist long after us, the environmental degradation is leading us towards a non-favorable habitat for ourselves.

Through examples from history, he tried to explain that only a mindful approach to living will help us get through this situation, and not only will we be able to help ourselves but also others if we choose to walk on the path of spirituality.

In 2020, One of the noblest initiatives has been taking care of the stray animals that have been very seriously affected because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, these animals aren’t directly affected by the virus, but they depend a lot on humans to provide them with food, water, and love–which has been missing from their lives ever since the lockdown began. This means that these are very distressing times for them. Many animal welfare activists have expressed grave concerns over their plight, and believe that the scarcity of food could turn out to be a trigger for promoting competitiveness. This may lead to aggressive behavior among the strays. Many people have abandoned their sick pets amid the lockdown because they weren’t able to get access to regular treatment. Another unfortunate thing is that stray animals are being ostracized because of the fear of contracting the COVID-19 infection from them. Health organizations have debunked this claim, however, and this irrational fear is only gripping people because of widespread misinformation.

“Animals not only require regular meals, water, medication, healing (in case of injury and illness), and care, but also, most importantly, they need our time and love–we must play with them and pat them, and caress them, as they too suffer the consequences of this forced isolation,” - Mr. Manu Singh, Chairman of Sarva Dharma Samvaad & Chief Mentor Varenyum.

On 26th June 2023, Rescued a Jackal trapped in a dry well in the jungle near JNU Sports Stadium with the help of Wildlife SOS, Cyclops Security and students of JNU. The Jackal was trapped from two days and nothing we did was enough, but finally with God’s grace and the support of the students from the campus we could successfully rescue it.

The Doon Litchi Campaign continued with renewed vigor. At Him Jyoti School in Dehradun, children and teachers came together with SDS volunteers to plant litchi saplings, reviving the valley’s cultural and agricultural legacy. Led by the inspiring presence of Mrs. Ruma Malhotra, the drive became more than an environmental activity—it became a pledge to nurture the next generation’s sense of ecological responsibility.

On Harela Parv, our volunteer Mrs. Rajni Gusain led another plantation at Apsara International School, where the community gathered to celebrate renewal and greenery.

During Harela Parv, BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt ji personally planted a litchi sapling at his residence in support of the Doon Litchi Campaign. His call to citizens to rejuvenate the valley’s natural heritage became a rallying point for collective environmental action.
